thermOweld®’s exothermic connections fulfills the Electromagnetic Force (EMF) section of the newly revised IEEE 837-2014 standard. The testing was performed by an independent lab and the results were very successful.

The scope of IEEE 837-2014 provides standard direction and methods for qualifying permanent connections used for substations grounding. It particularly addresses the connection used within the power distribution system, the connection used to join leads to the grid and the connections used to join leads to equipment and structures.
