Safety rated to CAT IV 600 V the MIT400 series of testers are suitable for use in high energy systems, up to substation transformers, while lower test voltages can be used in data and telecommunication systems. The Megger MIT400 testers are also very useful for the checking of the electrical system in hybrid and electric vehicles.

A key feature of the design of the testers is their waisted profile making them easy to hold by operators with the smallest of hands, and it can be used right or left-handed.
