Industry Safety Expert to Take Center Stage at EUFMC

Brian Herman, Corporate Safety Director at Tucson Electric Power (TEP), a division of UNS Energy Inc., will bring his 30 years of industry experience and extensive knowledge of environmental health and safety to EUFMC, the premier educational conference for fleets operating utility equipment.

Herman’s presentation, Driving Safety Culture, will provide actionable steps fleet executives can take to influence organizational safety culture and performance. Topics that will be covered during the educational presentation include:

  • Exploring the Paradox of Safety Culture
  • Understanding & Responding to Human Error
  • Building Resiliency & Safety Capacity
  • Applying Human & Organizational Performance Principles to Utility Leadership

At TEP, Herman is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to evolve the company’s safety culture and improve enterprise-wide safety performance.

“The critical element in organizational safety is the inter-personal human dynamic,” he said. ”If you’re in safety and you don’t care about people, you’re in the wrong business. Focusing on the new view of safety is about building connections to both front-line workers and executive leadership.”

Driving Safety, Sustainability & Technical Expertise will be the focus of the General Session educational program at EUFMC 2022. The conference also features a Drive-Through utility equipment demonstration and an Equipment Show with more than 60 displays.
