CUTV News Radio spotlights Marie-Louise Burkle of Autac inc.

Branford, CT — When we think of manufacturing plants, often we imagine these companies being run only by men. But the truth is many women are successfully running manufacturing companies all over the world.

Marie-Louise Burkle is CEO of Autac Inc., a highly regarded woman-owned manufacturer of high-quality coiled cords. Founded by Robert Burkle in 1947, Autac Inc. is the second oldest company in the industry.

“When Autac first started we were solely involved in the commercial trucking industry but diversified when the trucking industry suffered from overregulation,” says Burkle. “Coiled cords can be found in medical facilities, aviation, toys, communication, automation and many other industries.

What sets Autac apart from the “Big Guys?” There’s extraordinary magic and precise attention to detail involved in producing retractile cords. Autac has the recipe for the best quality cords on the market today. Everyone else is still trying to figure it out.

“We are a boutique manufacturer of wire and cable. Our firm is filling a void that nobody else will. Small quantity, high quality wire with exceptional service” says Burkle. “Even my competitors sometimes send me their customers when it’s a job they deem too small or too complicated. We effectively customize our products precisely to the customer’s request so they may purchase one of something instead of a thousand.”

Autac’s goal is to be the “go to” because of excellent customer service, high quality, attention to detail.

“Women understand value, investment in consumer goods, style and have a myriad of other specific experience and viewpoints that provide a different approach to the same old way of doing things.”

Burkle emphasizes that women inherently possess gifts in multi-tasking and have superior organizational skills that are essential qualities running businesses (and countries) more efficiently and effectively.

Women can become accomplished in any job,” says Burkle. “It’s all about your passion and what brings you joy and fulfillment. If you are drawn to manufacturing. then make it your career choice. They say well-behaved women rarely make history so make waves, make change, make history.”

CUTV news will feature Marie-Louise Burkle in two interviews with Doug Llewelyn on December 1st at 11am EST and December 8th at 1pm EST.
