Adapt Technologies is an LED agnostic company using the best fit components for any given product’s requirements. We maximize the performance and life output of our digital lighting products by strategically under driving our LEDs. By doing this we reduce the heat produced internally by the LED and achieve better lifetime and performance. However, by under driving the LEDs we are required to use more LEDs per fixture to have the same output as other manufactures which can drive up cost. Given this, some of our lower cost products will run a higher LED current never to exceed the LM80 test current for the particular LED being used. All of our power components are specified to withstand the rated input voltage and current for the fixture. We prefer to have 20% overhead on all component ratings where feasible.
Thermal management is the key to the lifetime of both LED lamps and fixtures. That is why we prefer to under drive our LEDs and over specify our components. By maintaining junction and case temperatures, we ensure that our products perform as designed. Product operating temperatures and lifetimes are based directly off thermal test data verified by third party NRTL lab.
All lamps and fixtures are designed with optics in mind. We take into consideration LED spacing, lens and reflector clearance, material interfaces, secondary and tertiary reflections. While we strive to extract as many photons as possible from our lamps and fixtures, we do not do so at the expense of the aesthetics of the fixture.
