Master TechThis Video On Demand training course provides an overview of the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) Code 70E standard through the 2015 standard updates. It explains the need to de-energize equipment prior to working on it, when working on energized systems may be permissible, and the permitting process for working on energized systems. Setting the approach boundary and how to determine and set arc flash boundaries are discussed. It covers the use of arc-rated clothing and equipment and where to find guidance in the 2015 NFPA 70E standard. Also addressed are hazard risk categories and the types of personal protective equipment required for each category.
